Fireworks Opening & Awards
This event will be open from 5.30pm ready for a 6pm start.

The Incinerator Gallery Fireworks exhibition is Moonee Valley's annual art and design award for Years 11 and 12 students who live, work or study in Moonee Valley.

Fireworks 2020 now aligns with the end of the school year to mark students' massive achievements in art and design, and send the year off with a community exhibition celebration.

The shortlisted works will be displayed as an online exhibition as well as in the Main Gallery at Incinerator Gallery Visitors to the gallery will need to observe our Covid-19 safe guidelines for entry.

Our judging panel comprises two highly regarded Victorian art educators and advocates; Francine Sculli local artist and educator, Social Justice Art and Gallery Sketchers facilitator at Incinerator Gallery, and David Menzies, local artist and National Gallery Victoria educator.

The gallery received an amazing 60 submissions for Fireworks 2020, as these were shortlisted to 38 young artists and designers to make our Fireworks 2020 shortlist. Making this our largest Fireworks ever.

Shortlisted artists are eligible for one of the five prizes to be awarded at the exhibition opening and awards presentation, including:
- The $500 Fireworks Art Award
- The $500 Fireworks Design Award
- The $200 Mayoral Award for Excellence in Art
